Kid drummer playing impossible Corea piece

Many musicians will have already seen this (I know I sent it to many of my colleagues) But for those of you who don’t know this kid, check it out. I actually wanted to play this piece for my third-year exam at the conservatory, and I had difficulty finding a bass player.

The shocker? I couldn’t find a drummer who wanted to play it. Or could play it.

The Power of Music

Being a pianist, I have done volunteer work in a home for elderly people suffering from dementia. I would play and sing songs from their youth, and they would sing along. It is amazing what happens when you do that: they remember all the words and the mood is invariably happy and joyous.
